Global Professional Traning: East and Southeast Asia
Texas Global is pleased to announce the 2023 Global Professional Training: East and Southeast Asia Symposium! The free, one-day, in-person symposium will include interactive panel discussions and workshops, an information fair, and career panels that will further your knowledge of East and Southeast Asia and provide you with resources for seeking careers that engage with the region.
The symposium will include:
- Expert speakers and in-depth discussions covering Asia’s geopolitical and socioeconomic trends
- Interactive workshops on networking, core competencies, and practical tools for seeking out global careers
- Information fair with campus and community resources for professional, research, and volunteer experiences related to the region, including potential employers

Free Asian-themed lunch, dinner, snacks, raffle prizes, and Lunar New Year's celebration and cultural performance!
We invite you to participate in this opportunity to learn more about a diverse, dynamic, and critical region of the world.

Jumpstart your career with an internship in this global epicenter, take in-residence UT classes with other UT Austin students, and explore the creative energy of the city that never sleeps. This information session - with special guest presenters from the UTNY Center in Manhattan! - will go over the UTNY program, classes, living in New York City, financial information, and steps to apply. Attendance is strongly recommended for Fall 2023 applicants, but students planning for future semesters are also welcome.

VIP Speaker Series with Chris Hyams, CEO of Indeed
The VIP Speaker Series at The University of Texas at Austin is one of the nation's foremost executive speaker series. An event dedicated to highlighting the views, insights, and perspectives of accomplished and inspiring business leaders, students are given the opportunity to learn from some of the most prominent speakers in modern business.
Chris Hyams is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Indeed. Chris joined Indeed in 2010 as VP of Product, responsible for technology strategy and innovation. In 2015, Chris became President, assuming additional responsibility for Indeed’s revenue growth and client success. Chris was appointed Indeed CEO in April 2019, leading Indeed’s mission to help people get jobs.
