Resources for Applicants

Consortium for Graduate Study in Management

Consortium for Graduate Study in Management (CGSM) is an alliance of top business schools and business organizations committed to enhancing diversity and inclusion in business education and leadership by striving to reduce the significant underrepresentation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans in business. The McCombs School of Business has been a proud partner of the Consortium since 1984.

Candidates who apply through the Consortium are considered for full-tuition and partial scholarships. All U.S. citizens and permanent residents (regardless of race or ethnicity) who have demonstrated a commitment to promoting inclusion in school, in their jobs, or in their personal lives are eligible for Consortium membership.

Management Leadership for Tomorrow

Launched in 2002, Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) is a national nonprofit working to transform the leadership pipelines of leading business schools and organizations. MLT equips high-achieving individuals from underrepresented communities - Black, Latinx, and Native American - to realize their full potential, make a mark, and make a difference. The MLT MBA Prep and MLT Professional Development programs prepare business school candidates for the MBA application and corporate recruiting process.

Stay Connected with BGBA

Here are just a few ways that BGBA and McCombs interact both inside and outside of school!

  • Tight-knit network – we support each other through the good and the bad whether that is through academics or social life. We are here to make sure that we are successful all around.

  • We love to have fun! We do both formal and informal social events (brunches, happy hours, TopGolf outings, and dinners at different hotspots in Austin!)

  • We are allies with other student organizations committed to diversity on campus. We frequently collaborate on how we can increase diversity and improve the black student experience on campus.

  • We partner with other Black Students in the UT Graduate network through professional networking events along with social outings (such as game and skate nights!)
