MBA Orientation

Your journey begins at the Texas McCombs MBA orientation - an opportunity to meet your new classmates, start learning from McCombs faculty and launch your studies on The University of Texas at Austin campus.

Year One - Spring

Your first semester begins in the Spring and will focus on building your foundational business knowledge. Coursework includes:

  • Business Integrity
  • Financial Accounting
  • Statistics
  • Financial Management 

Year One - Summer Semester

Your summer semester builds upon the first, as you dive into the next phase of our core curriculum. Coursework includes:

  • Managerial Microeconomics 
  • Strategic Innovation & Entrepreneurship 

Year One - Fall

The fall builds on the momentum from your first semester. Coursework includes:

  • Leading People and Organizations
  • Business Analytics & Decision Modeling
  • Valuation 
  • Marketing Management 

Year Two - Spring

You’re now almost halfway toward your Texas McCombs MBA degree. In your second spring semester, your course schedule begins to develop laser focus, including the following classes:

  • Strategic Management
  • Operations Management
  • Analysis & Applications in Marketing

Year Two - Summer Semester

Building on your growing expertise, you will begin to incorporate more advanced theories and practices in your education. Courses include:

  • Financial Statement Analysis
  • Managerial Macroeconomics 
  • Project Management 
  • Directed Studies in Global Management

Year Two - Fall

As you approach the finish line of your MBA program, you’ll take advanced coursework to prepare you for whatever comes next in your career. Courses include:

  • Corporate Finance/Financial Markets 
  • Legal Environment of Business 
  • Managerial Accounting 

The Final Semester

Your seventh and final semester has been designed to launch you confidently toward graduation and the advances in your career that await. Courses include:

    Evening MBA classes take place at Rowling Hall on the UT-Austin campus—the home of the Texas McCombs MBA. Opened in 2018, this state-of- the-art facility, located near the heart of the campus and a mere five-minute walk from downtown Austin, is designed with your education in mind. Classrooms, meeting rooms, presentation spaces, career management offices, technology labs—all in one beautiful building.

Class Schedules

The Evening MBA program meets for class on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Classes are held at the Texas McCombs MBA campus inside Robert B. Rowling Hall in Austin, Texas.
