NAPE & Company Visits
Energy Management Program Students have the opportunity to attend Winter and Summer NAPE in Houston. NAPE Expo is the oil and gas industry’s marketplace for the buying, selling, and trading prospective and producing properties.
Through this experience, students also get the opportunity to network at energy company headquarters, such as Opportune, BP, Alvarez & Marsal, and Schlumberger.
Energy-Finance Case Competition
The program hosts a series of energy-finance case competitions each year. Student teams are asked to review and analyze a case study in the energy industry. Each team then performs a market analysis on the assigned topic.
Engaging Student Organizations
Network with other like-minded energy students through the Texas Energy Capital and Longhorn Energy clubs.
Texas Energy Capital (TEC) is a student-managed investment fund focused on providing a learning opportunity by offering real-world security analysis in the energy industry.
Longhorn Energy is a university-wide graduate and undergraduate student organization that supports interdisciplinary professional development; promotes interdisciplinary energy entrepreneurship, and inspires interdisciplinary energy research at UT Austin.
Professional Networking Events
Program activities help connect alumni and industry professionals with students and other professionals. Energy students and executives can network at the Industry Night reception hosted by the program each year.
Industry Night is a way for UT students to connect with energy professionals who will share the experiences that helped shape their successful careers in the industry. The event enables students to network with energy leaders who can provide insight into the different career paths in the industry.
