Reaching Students Across Campus
Today, the Entrepreneurship Minor has over 800 students from majors across campus and offers courses from McCombs and several UT colleges & schools:
The Entrepreneurship Minor launched in Fall 2018 with a small cohort of less than 90 students. Since then, the program has raised funds to offer sponsored practicum courses, private guest speaker events, undergraduate student community events, and co-working spaces for students across the university and the Summer Entrepreneurship Academy.
In 2022 the Entrepreneurship Minor became the foundation of the new Harkey Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies created through a transformational gift and investment in the future of undergraduate entrepreneurs by John Harkey. This gift allows the Institute to grow programs that will support University of Texas students and the growth of Longhorn businesses forever.
US News & World Report ranks the University of Texas as #7 in entrepreneurship education and Princeton Review rankings rated UT as #2 in the nation.
