Integrated MPA Tuition and Financial Aid
Take the burden off your shoulders with a variety of ways to offset earning your master's degree at McCombs.
MPA Funding and Financial Benefits
The iMPA program lets you take graduate courses at undergraduate rates while you are an undergraduate student, so you'll save both time and money. Taking advantage of available scholarships and teaching assistantships can further reduce the cost of your accounting education.
Scholarships
- McCombs School of Business Scholarships: are available to continuing undergraduates in the McCombs School of Business. Please contact the BBA Program Office with questions about McCombs scholarships.
- University-Wide Scholarships: are posted on the Office of Financial Aid website.
- TBA Accounting Student Scholarships: Administered by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, the TBA Accounting Student Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria: Texas residency, financial need, grade point average, and a commitment to take the CPA exam in Texas. Applications are distributed by the MPA Program Office, but the office does not make the decision regarding who receives these scholarships.
- Department of Accounting Scholarships: are directed toward integrated MPA students in their fifth (graduate) year to help defray some of the graduate tuition costs. The MPA Program Office sends the scholarship application to students in the spring before they enter graduate school.
- Other Accounting Scholarships: several organizations offer scholarships to encourage the pursuit of accounting education. For example, the AICPA provides a listing of several scholarship opportunities.
Teaching Assistants
iMPA students are eligible to serve as teaching assistants during their fifth (graduate) year. TAs are assigned to accounting courses to assist professors with course instruction, grading homework, proctoring exams, holding office hours, and leading review sessions. Appointments are usually 10 hours per week. Additionally, there are employment opportunities through UT's Graduate School.
