Steven Brister is an associate professor of instruction and the assistant chair of the Marketing Department at The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including Principles of Marketing, Marketing Management, and Strategic Brand Management, while also leading graduate-level practicums.
Prior to joining McCombs, Brister held professional roles as a marketing executive at DirecTV and Time Warner Cable, branding consultant at Landor Associates, and advertising executive at Leo Burnett. He has also held numerous marketing strategy consulting engagements, leveraging strategic concepts and frameworks through developing plans and programs to meet unique business challenges.
Brister earned an MBA from Texas McCombs and a B.A. in history and economics from Duke University.
