McCombs Student Guide

Get the Latest Campus Info

Know Where to Get the Latest Information About What's Happening on Campus.

In preparation for the semester, the university has created resources to help students navigate the new environment.

  • The Protect Texas website is the main source for information, including health and safety guidelines, campus operations information, and FAQs about all things UT.
  • For mental health and well-being support, contact UT’s Counseling and Mental Health Center.
  • To learn about campus-wide events and community activities, visit Longhorn Connection. Events specific to McCombs and/or your program will be shared by your program office and via the McCombs website.

Maintain a Safe Campus

Know How to Help Us Maintain a Safe Campus Environment

Maintaining a safe and healthy campus will rely on our collective efforts and preparedness to follow rules and guidelines.

  • When coming to campus, we encourage you to bring the following: face masks, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, tissues, standard school supplies, and food/snacks for the day.
  • If anyone feels unwell, please stay home, let your instructors know, and call the UHS Nurse Advice Line at 512-475-6877; please put this number in your phone.
  • UHS will conduct testing on the UT Austin campus for symptomatic students and coordinate contact tracing.

Promote Health and Safety in Our Buildings and Classrooms

Know How Our Buildings and Classrooms Have Been Set Up to Promote Health and Safety

All buildings and classrooms on the Austin campus are cleaned by UT Facilities each night, and we’ll do additional cleaning during each weekday for high-touch areas: restrooms, doors, handles, buttons, and so on.

  • Protective Face Mask Guidance are strongly encouraged to be worn by everyone inside buildings and classrooms.
  • Hand sanitization stations will be available throughout buildings.
  • Campus libraries will be open while strongly encouraging face coverings. Please visit UT libraries for the latest information about library services and hours.
  • The university is closely monitoring the data, and with the advice of our public health experts, we have decided to allow some professors to make temporary adjustments to their classes to reduce density through September 17.

Connect with Your Program Office

Know How to Connect with Your Program Office Staff

Our program office staff are your primary connection and resource for navigating the semester successfully.

Program leaders will continually review City of Austin and Travis County guidelines and protocols as they assess ramping up or ramping down on-campus gatherings and activities.

Career Management and Recruiting Resources

Know About Our Virtual Career Management and Recruiting Resources

Career education, coaching, and corporate recruiting will be a mix of in-person and virtual this fall, and your Career Management team is here to support you every step of the way.

Students should read their weekly Career Management communications for important announcements and information.

Contact Media and Computer Services

Know How to Contact Media and Computer Services for Technical Support

Our computer services and media support teams will continue to be fully operational, but with some adjustments to adhere to health and safety protocols.

  • Media Services will provide ad hoc counter support in both RRH and GSB, limited to two people at a time.
  • For computer help-desk issues, remote support will be the first option for all support cases, even for students who are on-site.
  • When needed, in-person support should be provided by appointment as much as possible.
